How to Easily Replace Image and Media Files in WordPress
At some point, you may need to update the image or media file used in your WordPress theme or website. Maybe you want to change a hero image or replace a logo or favicon. There are a few approaches you can take to replace an image or media file in WordPress.
1. Update File in the WordPress Media Library
The easiest way to replace an image or media file is to update it in the WordPress Media Library. Find the file you want to replace, click Edit, and then upload the new version of the image or media file in the Replace media field.
Once the new version is uploaded, click the Update button and WordPress will use the new version of the file on your website.
2. Upload Different File Directly to the Post or Page
If the file you want to replace is currently being used in a post or page, you can replace it with a different file directly from the post or page. Go to the post or page, click the Add Media button, and find the file that you want to use in its place. Once the file is uploaded and inserted into the post or page, the old file will be replaced.
3. Replace File on the Server
If you are familiar with working with FTP, you can replace a file directly on the server. First, connect to your server and find the file you want to replace, then download it and the new version of the file. Once you have both files, delete the original file on the server and upload the new version in its place.
